Terms of Service

By accessing or using Shift2PDF ("Service", "we", "us", "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Shift2PDF is a cloud-based file conversion service that converts documents (DOCX, PPTX, XLSX, HTML, CSV, TXT, images) to PDF format. The Service is provided on a subscription and pay-per-use basis.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice. We will not be liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

• You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
• You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
• You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
• One account per person. Creating multiple accounts to circumvent plan limits is prohibited.
• You must be at least 18 years old to create an account.

You agree not to use the Service to:

• Upload, convert, or distribute files containing malware, viruses, or malicious code
• Infringe any third-party intellectual property, copyright, trademark, or trade secret
• Upload files containing illegal content, including child sexual abuse material
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service
• Use automated scripts or bots to abuse the Service or circumvent rate limits
• Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our written consent
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions without notice or refund.

Shift2PDF offers the following billing models:

Subscriptions

• Subscription plans are billed monthly on the date of initial purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled before the renewal date.
• Cancelling a subscription reverts your account to the Freemium plan at the end of the current billing period.
• Subscription MB allowances reset at the start of each billing period and do not roll over.

MB Top-up Packs

• Top-up packs are one-time purchases of additional MB capacity.
• Top-up MB does not expire and carries over across billing periods.
• Top-up MB is consumed before subscription allowance.
• Top-up packs are available to active subscribers only.

Freemium

• New accounts receive a one-time lifetime allowance of 50 MB at no charge.
• Freemium MB never resets and is not replenished.
• Freemium accounts are limited to 5 MB per conversion request.

All prices are displayed in USD and are exclusive of applicable taxes. Taxes may be added at checkout depending on your jurisdiction.

• Refunds are available for failed conversions caused by a verified error on our part.
• Subscription fees are non-refundable once a billing period has started, except where required by law.
• Top-up packs are non-refundable once MB has been consumed.
• To request a refund, contact us via our contact page within 14 days of the charge.
• Chargebacks initiated without first contacting us may result in account suspension.

Shift2PDF and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by us and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

You retain full ownership of all files you upload and convert. By using the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process your files solely for the purpose of providing the conversion service. We do not claim any ownership over your content.

You may not use our name, logo, or branding without prior written consent.

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. By using the Service, you consent to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.

Files you upload are stored temporarily and deleted automatically after 2 hours. We do not access, read, or analyze the contents of your files.

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

• We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.
• We do not warrant that conversion output will be pixel-perfect or identical to the source document in all cases.
• We do not warrant that the Service will meet your specific requirements.
• Conversion quality depends on the complexity and formatting of the source file.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Shift2PDF and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to:

• Loss of profits, revenue, data, or business opportunities
• Loss of or damage to files or documents
• Cost of substitute services
• Any damages arising from unauthorized access to your account

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claims arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim, or (b) USD $10.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide at least 14 days' notice of material changes via email or an in-app notice. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised Terms constitutes your acceptance.
